Introduction

Before talking about Consulting Multilingual WordNet and explaining it's contents and how to use it, we will introduce the concept of Navigation between WordNets. As we see in Figure 1, to travel from a WordNet (source) to another(s) (target) the user only needs a synset (word, variant or ILI) from WordNet Source. The application searches the correspondence from this synset to ILI(s) and then the correspondence from the ILI(s) to synset(s) of the Navigation WordNet. Inside the Navigation WordNet the application navigates from the initial synset(s) with a relation (that can be hyperonym, hyponym, meronym, etc) to related synset(s). And eventually, there is another correspondence search with the result synset(s) from the Navigation WordNet to the Target WordNet(s).

In Figure 2 we see the same navigation example but this time within the framework of our application.
