Install from .deb packages

This installation procedure is the fastest and easiest. If you do not plan to modify the code, this is the option you should take.

The provided packages will only work on debian-based distributions. They have been tested in Ubuntu (8.04 Hardy, 8.10 Intrepid, 9.04 Jaunty) and Debian (5.0.2 Lenny).

The installation procedure for these distributions (will probably work for other debian-based distros) is the following:

  sudo apt-get install libdb4.6++ libpcre3 libboost-filesystem1.34.1
  sudo dpkg -i FreeLing-2.1.deb

In the case of Debian, the above commands must be issued as root and without sudo.

Libraries libcfg+, libfries, and libomlet are included in the FreeLing .deb package, so you do not need to install them.
